Feline soul vibrations

Today we decided to take new cats into our home, because the loss of the cat that used to live with us was too painful. So we are getting these two sweethearts pictured above as new family members. My daughter can hardly sleep, because she is so much looking forward to it...

We receive these cats from a animal protection society that is called "Katzhenhilfe Wuerzburg" wich means something like "Cat-help Wuerzburg". It is an association, that cares, nourishes and nurses "lost" cats. We visited one of the chairladys today and what we saw there was amazing and also very touching to me...

This lady keeps at least 15 cats in her house! All these cats were found on the streets some even with their still breast fed kittens lying in the shrubs by the roadside, just thrown away by some numb feelingless cat owners who just wanted to get rid of them... These cats would have been an easy prey for the animal collectors or roaming dogs... But initially, I wanted to tell a totally different story...

In this cat orphanage, I observed something really touching to me. When we came into the house only two or three cats were running around. All other cats were just dozing on the sofas or in their climbing trees. Suddenly all cats started to show up one after another. We were surrounded by them all. They just showed up like the kids in an orphanage when possible future parents come in. The cats were just like these kids. You could see the desperate hunger for attention in their eyes. Shurely many of them have been traumatised and learn to trust humans again in this private surrounding. But it really touched me to see all these cats showing up to get a little bit of tenderness and friendly words...

It resembled me to the human need of attention and tenderness.

Today I have seen us being very close to my feline friends...

Maybe this is the reason, why sensitive or depressive humans like cats so much: Cats have a very strong cognition about nearness. They are able to give it and they long to get it.

They make you feel understood while being a sovereign animal, not dependent but affiliating with you. They always have dignity and they want to be respected. But they also can be a comfort and love to be comforted and attended too. It is a amazing symbiosis.

I am again surprised and simply impressed...

Welcome kittens...looking forward to seeing you soon...

P.S.: You can see the list of the cats that currently look for a new home (including pictures) here.

i've been sending money to the aspca since i was 10. i'm always glad to see others that use animal agecies to adopt pets, rather than supporting pet stores.

enjoy your new kittens!
