How to become a cult leader

Cult leaders in New Zealand - still going on...


Since concha inspired me in one of her comments to get more information about my membership in a cult, I now want to give the helpful advice how to become a cult leader in a few simple steps (May be helpful to one or the other in case you want to found a cult...it is so easy!)...

Being a former member of a christian cult (that still exists in New Zealand) I know the mechanisms of these systems too well. It took me ten years of my life...

Step 1.) If you want to found a cult, that is christianity related, start your activities in the local church. There you have to work as leader in a bible school class or as secretary. It is not important, what you do. It is the nearness to the leaders, that matters. There you can learn how leadership works. And how "human" material (the ordinary people) are to be handled.

Step 2.) Develop your own exegesis for crucial lifetasks and make them public.
You will find people, who are desperate enough to believe you...
Avoid them to be herard from people with responsabilities in the church...

Step 3.) Criticize the church and its leaders in front of those who sympathise with your ideas and your picture of the world. Wake up the hunger for more authentic christian life. Let everybody feel as a loser in its current life environment.

Step 4.) Start private meetings outside the church context with the people that sympathise with your teaching.

Step 5.) Start your own private church services apart form the normal church times (Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoons preferred)

Step 6.) Start laying pressure on the concsience of your private audience by preaching high moral standards and admonish to be selfless.

Step 7 - most imoportant!) Have personal audiences with each person in the circle of influancable people. Be their confessor. Let them tell you their "sins"(or what they think is their sin) to find out, where their weak point is in order to be successful to engage Step 8.). Show extreme friendliness, patience and mildness during these audiences. This gains trust to you in ther souls...

Step 8.) When having found the weak point (this is easy with Christians or others: Pride, Money, Alcohol, Sex, Fear or other addictions are the most obvious), you start the manipulation process: Tell them, that they are very special in the eyes of God and that this God directly lead them to you to get rid of their bad habits. And tell them that they have to get rid of them, because if not, the loving God that sent them to you will develop extreme wrath against you. Tell them, that they have especially been chosen to be with you.

Step 9.) Now it is time to found you own congregaton. Not officially. Not in public. You just do it in silence, so nobody from "outside" will notice. It is founded in a collective congegational decision with all of your "sermon addicts". You decide together, not to attend the regular church services anymore, but to solemnly attend your own private church meetings...

Step 10.) Found a flat-sharng community with all the people who want more closeness to you.
You already reached the point where some of your gathering needs more "treatment" to learn to live "right". Ideally it should be in a house quite away from the next township to achive maximum distance to the "normal city life".

Step 11.) Start alienise the members of your group to their own relatives.
Select the relatives into two groups:

- The community supporters = Relatives, that do not comment negative to the group live and the membership to it. Invite them to see, how the group life works (on display - not in the inside)

- The community objectors = Relatives who have negative comments on the development of the group. You influence the group members to handle those relatives with extreme care and force them to break up with them in order to "keep your sheep in the flock". You tell a different story: You find a biblical explanation for it. You say: "Jesus did also not regard his relatives..." and find enough biblical evidence for that...

Step 11.) In order to finance the community life you urge everybody from the group, that is still working in the "outside world", to put his share into a "common money pot". Increase the pressure up to the point that every money earned of community inhabitants lands in the pot.


Step 12.) Put up a time (and money) consuming renovation project of a new domicil for the group in order keep everybody extremely busy. Working hard stops the people from thinking. This is what you achieve. Permanently check the loyality of your members by increasing the moral pressure on them. Teach them, that being together as a group is the most important thing at all. It is God's law. If you are disobedient to this law, it is God's wrath that waits for you.
Try to phish more members to the group and go through Step 2 - 11 with them.

Step 12a.) Find out abvout "loose" group members who tend to break under the pressure of your teaching. Interrogate them in front of all the group members to their loyality. Find reasons to "cast them out" or "give them a chance to repent". You must "winnow the chaff from the wheat grains". Do this regardless of marriages, kids, friendships. Take the risk of devorce in case of a cast out. It is only marriage... noting worth of something in your eyes... The group is the most important thing in the world...

Step 12b). Severely interfere within the educatuion of the kids. Especially when you are a woman, make other mothers feel bad, when they commit "mistakes" (You define what that is!) in the raise of their children. (With this action you are able to break the self esteem of every mother...)
Visualize physical punishment for kids as the only thing that will really work. If parents are too shy to do it as hard as you propose, show them how to do it and slam (or let it be done by your husband) other peoples kids in front of their parents to break the personality of the children...

Step1 13.) Drain all money assets of the group members into your renovation project. This way nobody has any financial security anymore. With progress in the alienation process of relatives, your Flock has no private existence chances anymore. They are glued together in their destiny

Step 14.) Try to or practically arrange marriages within the congregation. Even between those who lost their spuoses because you cast them out. They will be so desperate for a new love because of the loss and the pain they went through. Tell the new couples, that you had a direct hint from God to their relationship. Treat cast out spouses as the never existed and talk badly about them even in front of their children to avoid any contact to "catouts" and interns...

Step 14a) Alienate the spuoses of the marriages within the group. Tell them, that if the other spouse says something, that may lead into seperation from the group, they should make it public. If that happens humilate and intimidate those "candidates" in "public" with all group members. Always have a result at the end of such a meeting. Either cast the delinquent out our allow him or her to "repent". Enforce repentance by isolating the person from his spouse and kids and live seperate from all others only working for lowest level tasks. (He is suposed to feel like scum!). Then, after 1 or 2 weeks let him back in, not without taking the promise to behave better.

Now...from here on it is special story of the "Homeward Bound Group" in New Zealand, that still exists. The cult that I was a member of...

Step 14b) If you are female, cast out you husband and try a younger one from the group. Find all possible explainations, why this was God's way with you.

Step 15.) Convince the group to, move to another country (e.g. form Germany to New Zealand) that promises to be a brighter future for the (already arrived) children in the group.
The true reason for that is to get away from the state surveillance, because the trouble you cause can not be overseen anymore. Especially compensation for lost assets from former members could cause a problem...so you better leave...

Step 16.) Keep the whole group busy preparing and working hard for the migration process (I had up to 18 hour days...). Build up the picture, that life in the new country will be fine and thet the group has optimal chances, because you will found own businesses there.

Step 17.) Mirgrate to the foreign country...pull out all roots of you group members in the "old" country. Put them in a situation of high stress and disorientation by putting up even higher work levels in the "new" country. Constantly practice Step 12 - 14 in order to keep the flock together. Even send away some group members to achieve maximum fear in the new country.
By this action you will have maximum power over the group. No one dares to think even of objecting to your ideas.

Step 18.) Found businesses to keep your group members employed in your company. Give them a little pocket money (US$ 15/month) and no other access to money sources. Parallelly buy gimmicks for the grouop members, so the won't feel patronized (cars, food etc...). Only give few people the authorisation to shop or do money transactions. Only use "stable" people to have contact to the outside world. Fool the inland revenue (an your employees), because you do not pay real wages but extract the maximum work force out of them...

Step 19.) Currently invent private projects aside of the business work to "keep'em working". Never be happy with the quality of the work. Criticize as hard as you can. Everybody must know, that they have to increase their efforts to meet the "goals of the Lord", which in fact is every new project you want them to do.

Step 20.) Send away more members of the group to increase fear. Do not consider, that they are now facing poverty or desperation (e.g. to be seperated from family and spouse). It is necessary for the group. Explain the reasons for the exclusion by extensive letters (I got a 178 page letter once) and always tell the "ex-pats" that they may come back at any time. If possible, keep spouses our children as hostages to enforce this claim.

Step 21.) Found a trust, so nobody within the group is entitled to claim any asset from the group, when leaving. Make all companies you own part of this trust. Make shure you are solemnly sharehoder of all companies, founded within your business efforts.

Step 22.) Alienate the children from the parents within the group. Put them in a seperated house and let a person of your trust raise them in your teachings. Do not allow the parents of those kids object to that. Send away any mother that does (only for a short time). Explain this action thoroughly to the children, so that they may gain the "right" opinion about their parents/mother (and loose the last bit of trust in them). Make yourself as only person of trust to them. You are the prophet. You are the leader. God himself is speaking to and through you. Use this position to blackmail the children by threatening, that you, their only person of love and trus, will be taken away by God if they will not stay within the group but prefer to live with a cast out parent (e.g.)...
You are the only one to be trusted. Use the law situation of the new country to enforce the children to wish to live seperated from their parents. Especialy when they found new spouses and left the group.

Step 22.) In case of being successful in business judge this to be God's blessing for keeping the group running. Spoil the alienated children with extensive assets and put up the vision of poverty and emotional deficits, if they ever leave the cult group. Bind them emotionaly to the cult. Treat psychotic appearances with members of the cult as minor incidents. Keep everybody in the group strictly obedient to your teachings.

Just obey these rules and you will be a successful cult leader, destroying other peoples lives in order to achieve the maximum payout at the end of the days...
Take at least 20 years time for the whole development process. ANd never dare to regret of whatever you have done...Remember: You are the prophet...!
